Up - Lake Weeroona to North Bendigo

Trail section between Lake Weeroona and North Bendigo

Section Highlights:

There are two exits from lake Weeroona: From the West side, via the Bendigo Creek, passing under Weeroona Avenue or, from the North end, crossing Weeroona Avenue and rejoining the Bendigo Creek Trail. The Trail then passes under the rail line to Eaglehawk and beyond, and continues to the turnoff to the O'Keefe Rail Trail.

From this point, the Trail is about to join the rail bed of what was the Wallan, Heathcote and Sandhurst Rail Line. In various stages, it was in operation from 1888 to 1968. The North Bendigo Railway Workshops can be seen in the background.
