The line leaves Bylands station on a slight down grade on a surface formation, enters a 120C radius left curve, cuts a broken post and rail fence, enters short Cutting 21, cuts another post and rail fence, runs through a surface formation, crosses a culvert and Occupation Crossing with gates, runs through low Cutting 22, Bank 21, cuts a post and rail fence as it enters Cutting 23, exits to a surface formation, cuts another post and rail fence, crosses an Occupation Crossing with gates and a culvert each side, enters shallow Cutting 24 and low Bank 22, cuts another post and rail fence, runs throgh a surface formation, enters Cutting 22, and reaches the 6M point - 39M 16C 51L from Melbourne.
Continuing the downward grade, the line passes a diverted gully, enters Cutting 26, then Bank 23, cuts a post and rail fence, crosses a culvert, an unnamed road (McKercher's Road) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 8.75', a post and rail fence, straightens, crosses a small, unnamed creek via a 5 x 11' openings bridge, enters a 100C radius right curve, cuts a post and rail fence, enters Bank 24, crosses a culvert, enters Cutting 27 within which it crosses an Occupation Crossing with gates, crosses a culvert, cuts a log fence, continues on a surface formation, cuts a post and rail fence, enters Bank 25, crosses an unnamed creek via a 6 x 11' openings bridge, runs almost level through a surface formation, enters Cutting 28, cuts a post and rail fence, enters Bank 26 and reaches the 7M point - 40M 16C 51L from Melbourne.
The line straightens, Bank 26 levels and the line cuts a log fence, crosses a culvert, commences a down grade as it enters Cutting 29, enters a 50C radius left curve, cuts a post and rail fence and crosses a culvert at an unnamed road PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, lowered 1.69', followed by a post and rail fence, exits the cutting to Bank 27, cutting 2 post and rail fences, crosses a culvert, another culvert at a post and rail fence, crosses an unnamed road PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 2.43', with a post and rail fence on each side and a culvert on the south side, runs on a surface formation, enters Bank 28, straightens, crosses a culvert, enters a surface formation, cuts a post and rail fence, enters Bank 29, passes a diverted gully, enters Bank 30, crosses a culvert, and reaches the 8M point - 41M 16C 51L from Melbourne.
The down grade continues on a surface forming and the line crosses a culvert, an unnamed road PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 0.85', with a fence on each side, crosses a culvert, enters a very short and low Bank 31, runs through a surface formation, through shallow Cutting 30, enters Bank 32, levels and crosses an unnamed creek via a 7 x 11' openings bridge, cuts a fence, runs on a surface forming to a culvert at an Occupation Crossing with gates, enters short and shallow Cutting 31, enters a surface formation, enters a 30C radius right curve, cuts a fence, another fence on the Township of Kilmore Boundary at Tootle Street which is closed.
Continuing, the line cuts a fence as it enters Bank 33, cuts another fence, crosses a 5 x 7' openings bridge as it nears named Powlett Street with a PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates. There is a culvert in the road, the end of which is to be removed. The road is raised 2.08'. The line then enters Cutting 32, crossing named and closed Broadhurst Street, crosses a culvert, cuts 2 fences as it enters Bank 34 with a 2' barrel culvert, enters Cutting 33 and crosses named and closed Green Street, cuts 2 fences, straightens, starts a down grade as it enters Cutting 34, cuts 2 fences, crosses named and closed Allen Street, cuts another 3 fences, arriving at the 9M point - 42M 16C 51L from Melbourne.
Cutting 34 is ended and the line enters Bank 36, crossing a culvert and levels at the named Lumsden Street PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 3.95', followed by a 5 x 11' openings bridge, enters a 15C radius left curve, cuts 3 fences as it enters Cutting 35 and crosses named and closed Hamilton Street, exits the cutting at a culvert and the named Rutledge Street PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 1.44', followed by a fence and culvert, as it enters the Kilmore Station Ground.
