The line exits the Argyle Station site on a slight down grade on a surface formation, crosses a culvert, followed by an unnamed 1½ Chain Road (Dairy Flat Road} PCR Crossing, raised 0.46', continuing to Bank 7 where it changes to level, crosses named Argyle Gully via a 7 x 11' openings bridge, cuts a fence and commences an up grade into Cutting 4.
The line passes an unnamed and closed 1 Chain Road (Spring Hills Road) and cuts a fence at the end of the cutting, tops the rise, and descends on Bank 6, crossing a culvert, levelling, cutting a fence and crossing a culvert, commences a rising grade on a surface formation, tops, and descends past a diverted track, crosses an unnamed track PCR Crossing, raised 0.96', crosses a culvert, enters Bank 5 and a 30C radius curve, passes a dam bank with endorsement "Level of Byewash 819.66', reaching the 29M point - 72M 1C 94L from Melbourne.
Continuing on the down grade in Bank 5, the line passes an unnamed and closed road, and enters Cutting 3. It then passes a footpath with wicket gates, the cutting ends, the line enters a level Bank 4 where if passes a diverted Long Gully watercourse, crosses a water race via a 11 x 11' openings bridge, passes named and diverted Opossum Gully, enters a 40C radius curve, cuts a fence and enters Cutting 2 on a rising grade, within which it crosses an unnamed PCR Crossing with 14'6" gates, raised 0.53' and then crosses a track. The line exits the cutting on a down grade into Bank 3, crosses a culvert, the curve ends, the line crosses another watercourse culvert, cuts a fence on each side of named Rob Nicholl's Garden, enters Bank 2, levels, crosses a culvert, crosses a named footpath to Mr. Hedley's (Thomas Hedley, McIvor Sluicing Company) with wicket gates, crosses a double culvert, passes a diverted watercourse, and crosses the Township Boundary.
The line then crosses an unnamed drain via a 5 x 7' openings bridge, passes a diverted watercourse and enters Cutting 1. It then crosses a track, an unnamed PCR Crossing with 14'6" gates, lowered 0.04', exits the cutting, enters Bank 1, passes a mullock heap, enters an 80C radius left curve, crosses a 5 x 11' openings bridge, enters a cutting, and reaches the Commencement of Contract point at 28M - 73M 1C 94L from Melbourne.
The line continues through Cutting 94 (Cutting 1 on Contract 3303) on an almost level grade through old gold workings, enters Bank 109, passes a diverted watercourse and crosses named Herriot Street (Extended) PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 2.24', with a culvert each side, entering the Heathcote Station Ground.
