Heathcote Station

Heathcote Railway Station site

Detail

Detailed information for Heathcote Station.

Section Highlights:

Heathcote Station was situated between Pohlman and Herriot Streets. Chauncey Street was an entrance street near to the down (North) end of the Passenger platform and the station offices, having been closed to make room for the station ground. Residential housing now obscures the site of the Passenger and Goods platforms. There is virtually no infrastructure remains to be seen - except for some remnant posts that once supported a water tanks, in the Up end of the station, near where the turntable was installed. Stockyards existed at the down end.

Along with two nearby waterholes and a bark hut, a puddling machine was shown on the contract plans approximately 140m to the west, outside the station ground, from near the centre of the station ground length.
