Down - Ingham to Axedale Town

The rail reserve is not accessible between Ingham and Axedale Racecourse due to the line running through private property, crossing the Campaspe River, a road under rail bridge, and what is now the Axedale Golf Course. However, a Trail bypass runs through a short section of the Knowsley Forest to the Axedale Township where water, refreshments and a toilet stop are provided, along with the opportunity of seeing historical town sites. The Trail re-connects to the rail line at the Axedale Racecourse Platform.

Leave the rail alignment and head towards Axedale.

Emerging from the Forest near the transformer near McIvor Highway. Keep left.
