Grade: 2630_03

Having exited the Strathfieldsaye Station Grade, the line crosses a culvert, followed by an Occupation Crossing, exits Cutting 20, and enters level Bank 14, reaching the 4M point - 97M 1C 94L from Melbourne, calculated from diagram 3303_01.

Grade: 2630_02

The line exits Bank 14 and commences a slight up grade in shallow Cutting 19, crosses an Occupation Crossing, followed by a culvert, enters a surface formation, passes an unnamed and closed road (Cashen's Lane), cuts through a fence, and enters Bank 13.

In Bank 13, the line enters a 30C radius right curve, crosses a creek that is a branch of Splitter's Creek via a 5 x 11' opening bridge, enters Cutting 18, crosses a culvert, crosses an Occupation Crossing, crosses a sandstone bar, exits the cutting to a level grade Bank 12, crosses a culvert, cuts a fence, crosses named Splitter's Creek via a 5 x 11' openings bridge, straightens, cuts through a fence, crosses named McIvor Road with a PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 2.81', crosses a drain culvert, and then cuts a fence on the Parish Boundary.

The line exits Bank 12, and commences an up grade on a surface forming to a series of low and shallow banks, cuttings and surface formations of no real consequence, enters Bank 11, reaching the 3M point - 98M 1C 94L from Melbourne, calculated from diagram 3303_01.

Continuing, the line crosses a culvert, enters Cutting 15, enters a 40C radius left curve, arrives at an unnamed cross roads (Atlas Road) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 0.05', the Parish Bounday, and a culvert. The line then enters Bank 10, (now on private property), straightens near the bank exit, crosses a culvert, ends the curve, (exits the private property) enters Cutting 14, near the site of the future Rangelea Siding turnout.

Grade: 2630_02

The line crosses 2 tracks, exits Cutting 14, exits to Bank 9, crossing x 3 x 7' openings bridge, exits to an unnamed one chain road (Markovitch Lane) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, lowered 0.14', enters Cutting 13 on a steepening up grade, and cuts through a fence. At the top of the grade, the line enters a surface formation, enters Cutting 12 where it commences a down grade, proceeds to shallow Cutting 11, enters a 100C radius left curve, enters Bank 8, crosses a culvert, straightens near the bank exit, runs through shallow Cutting 10, enters level Bank 7, crosses an unnamed watercourse via a 4 x 7' openings bridge, reaching the 2M point - 99M 1C 94L from Melbourne, calculated from diagram 3303_01.

The line passes a diverted watercourse, exits Bank 7, enters Cutting 9, exits to Bank 6, crosses a culvert, followed by another culvert, enters low Cutting 8, cuts a fence and crosses unnamed road (Pratt's Park Road) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, lowered 0.30'. Immediately on the Down side, the future entrance to VIMA Siding is passed.

The line enters Bank 5, crosses a 5 x 7' openings bridge, commences a 1 in 50 up grade, crosses a culvert, enters Cutting 7, crosses an unnamed and closed 1½ Chain Road, passes or crosses what is termed "Old Hole", levels just before the cutting exit (Mayfair Park entrance), crosses an Allotment Line, begins a 1 in 50 down grade, crosses a culvert, enters Cutting 6, crosses an Allotment Line, followed by another in the middle of the cutting, and another near the end, crosses an unnamed (McDowall's Road) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 2.62', crosses a culvert, enters Bank 4, crosses an unnamed and diverted 1½ Chain Road, crosses an unnamed creek and water channel via a 6 x 15' openings bridge (Grassy Flat), levels, passes an old shaft, commences an up grade, crosses an old, diverted water race, another old shaft, another old, diverted water race, an Allotment Line, a hole, a culvert, enters a 100C radius left curve, and reaches the 1M point - 100M 1C 94L from Melbourne, calculated from diagram 3303_01.

The line exits the bank, enters Cutting 5, crosses a culvert, levels, crosses a water race with an 18" cast iron syphon, crosses an abandoned water race, a culvert, commences a 1 in 75 down grade and crosses an unnamed and closed One Chain Road (Roh's Road) and commences a 1 in 50 down grade with a 100C radius left curve, crossing a culvert.


Carr Fowler

The line crosses another culvert and an Occupation Crossing, enters shallow Cutting 3, levels, enters Bank 2 and an old gold workings area, crosses a fence Allotment Line, crosses a 5 x 7' openings bridge, the Sandhurst Municipal Boundary, a culvert, an unnamed 1½ Chain Road (re-alignment of the then ixisting Murphy Street allow the mentioned bridge) PCR Crossing with 13'6" gates, raised 5.05', passes a small diverted watercourse, and crosses a small culvert.

The line straightens and enters Cutting 2 on a down 1 in 50 grade, passes through an excavation for gold mining, passes a diverted drain, enters level Bank 1, enters a 20C radius left curve, crosses a gully via a 7 x 11' openings bridge (where there is only a large culvert today), passes 2 diverted watercourses, enters Cutting 1, reaching the Commencement of Contract point at 0M 7C 23L - 100M 74C 71L from Melbourne, calculated from diagram 3303_01. It connects at the 0M point on the main line via a 17.29C radius left curve.
