After leaving the McIvor Road Station site in Cutting 11, the line enters a surface forming, enters a 100C radius right curve, and reaches the 32M point - 69M 1C 94L from Melbourne.
It then continues on a slight down grade through old alluvial gold workings in Bank 15, crosses an unnamed road PCR Crossing without gates, raised 5.31', with a fence on the down side, continues to a double culvert, enters Bank 14, straightens, and the line crosses a 6 x 11' openings bridge on the level, enters Cutting 10 on an up grade, cuts a fence, passes a diverted road (Newlan's Lane), descends at the end of the cutting, crosses a culvert, an unnamed road PCR Crossing without gates, raised 2.09', continues in Bank 13, enter a 160C radius left curve, passes a diverted watercourse, crosses a 5 x 11' bridge on the level, enters Cutting 9 on an up grade, tops the grade between the end of the cutting and the start of Cutting 8, the curve ends and the line reaches the 31M point - 70M 1C 94L from Melbourne.
The line continues through Cutting 8, cuts a fence, runs through a hut, cuts another fence, continues into Bank 12, cuts another fence, crosses a culvert, crosses a track, crosses an unnamed (McMahon Street) PCR Crossing without gates, with a culvert each side, enters a 70C radius right curve, continues through an excavation, crosses a drain via a 5 x 11' openings bridge, continues on the level, enters a very short Cutting 7, commences a slight rise into Bank 11, the curve ends and the line crosses a 7 x 11' openings bridge. It crosses a culvert, an unnamed road (Peters Gully Road) PCR Crossing without gates, raised 1.63', and then a fence.
The line continues up into Cutting 6, enters a 60C right curve, cuts a fence, tops the rise and cuts another fence, the curve ends and the line descends through to Bank 10, crossing a culvert, runs through Cutting 5, reaching the 30M point - 71M 1C 94L from Melbourne.
Continuing on the down grade in Bank 9, the line crosses a culvert, followed by an unnamed One Chain Road (Joe's Road) PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 1.44', and entering the Argyle Station Ground.
