Up - Pyalong to High Camp

Grade: 3303_09

The line left the Pyalong Station site on a 30C radius left curve just before the end of Bank 82. It entered a bridge section, straightened, cut a fence, crossed an unnamed road (present day closed Bridge Street) and the named Pyalong Creek via 26 x 15' and a 1 x 20' openings bridge. It continued through another fence, exiting the bridge section, entered Bank 83, entered a 40C radius left curve, commenced a 1 in 50 up grade, entered cutting 67, straightened and transitioned to a 40C radius right curve, straightened near the deepest part of the cutting, cut a fence, entered a surface forming, crossed an unnamed road PCR Crossing without gates, raised 1.43', crossed a culvert, and reached the 45M point - 56M 1C 94L from Melbourne.

Continuing up the grade, the line passed through Cutting 68, straightened, entered Bank 84, entered Bank 85, cut a fence, crossed an unnamed road and unnamed watercourse via a 1 x 20' and 6 x 15' openings bridge, crossed a 3' barrel culvert, entered a 40C radius right curve, entered Cutting 70, passed under an unnamed road Bridge Over Railway, levelled, straightened, commenced a 1 in 50 down grade, entered a 1 in 100C radius left curve, cut a fence, entered a surface forming, and reached the 46M point - 57M 1C 94L from Melbourne.

Grade: 3303_10

The line then crossed a culvert, entered short Bank 86, cut a fence and entered an 8.5C width unnamed road (present day Northern Highway) PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 1.86'. The line entered Bank 88 within the crossing, crossed drains via a 5 x 7' openings bridge, entered Cutting 71, cut a fence, entered long Bank 89, crossed a culvert, cut a fence, crossed over an unnamed road and named Handford's Creek via a 16 x 15' openings bridge, levelled, continued, straightened, commenced a slight up grade, crossed named Mollison's Creek via a 7 x 15' openings bridge, commenced a 1 in 50 grade, and continued to reach the 47M point - 56M 1C 94L from Melbourne.

At this point, the Survey from Heathcote at 47M 0C 00L joins the Survey from Kilmore at 20M 67C 15L. Kilmore, as stated, is not Kilmore township, or the end of Contract No. 2629. It is from the North East Line. Note that distances will count down from 20M from Kilmore and 54M 1C 94L from Melbourne -as shown on the plans.

The line continued on Bank 89 up the grade, entered a 60C radius left curve, entered a surface forming, cut a fence, passed through Bank 90, entered Cutting 72, crossed an unnamed road (present day Northern Highway) PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 0.64'. The crossing has a fence on each side of the reserve which is AC wide as the road is crossed on an angle. The line continued through a fence, entered a very short Bank 91, crossed a double culvert, entered Cutting 73, straightened, passed a diverted gully, entered a very short Bank 92, and crossed a culvert. It passed through Cutting 74, entered Bank 93, passed a diverted gully, crossed a 4' x 4' arch culvert, cut a fence, passed through Cutting 75, entered a short Bank 94, passed through level Cutting 76, entered Bank 95 on an up grade, crossed a 4' x 4' arch culvert, passed through Cutting 77, entered Bank 96, entered a 100C radius right curve, and reached the 20M point - 53M 14C 79L from Melbourne.

Grade: 3303_11

Continuing on an up 1 in 50 grade in Bank 96, the line crossed a culvert, entered long Cutting 78, cut a fence, straightened, entered Bank 97, crossed a 4' x 4' arch culvert, ran through Cutting 79, entered Bank 98, crossed a 3' barrel culvert, ran through Cutting 80, entered Bank 99, crossed a culvert, entered a 40C radius right curve, The line enters a cutting during which it enters a 100C right curve, entered Bank 100, crossed a 2' barrel culvert, entered Cutting 82, passed a diverted watercourse, cut a fence, entered Bank 101, and crossed 3 x 2' barrel culverts. The line then entered high Cutting 83 with up to 44' sides, transitioned to an 80C radius left curve, and reached the 19M point - 52M 14C 79L from Melbourne.

The line entered Bank 102, crossed a 2' barrel culvert, passed a diverted gully, entered a surface forming on the level, crossed an unnamed road PCR Crossing with 18'6" gates, raised 1.37', with a fence each side, entered Bank 103, commenced a down grade, crossed an unnamed creek via a 5' x 5' arch culvert, levelled at the entrance to Cutting 84, the entrance to Glenaroua (later High Camp Plain and then High Camp) Station Ground.
